The simply designed Casio G-Shock Classic digital watch for men offers shock resistance that's great for your most vigorous sporting activities. The durable rectangular black watch case measures 45mm wide (1.77 inches), and it's matched to a comfortable black resin sports strap. The face has two windows that show time (bottom) and date (top) as well as a circular display for the stopwatch function, which can measure events down to 1/100 of a second for the first 60 minutes (and down to 1 second from 60 minutes to 24 hours). It also offers elapsed and split time modes, and 1st-2nd place times, and it includes a countdown timer with a 24-hour range. Other timekeeping features include a multi-function alarm, hourly time signal (which can be turned off), and 12/24-hour formats. This timepiece also features an Auto Calendar (pre-programmed until the year 2039), ±15-second accuracy per month, Afterglow backlighting, and water resistance to 200 meters (660 feet)--which will stand up to the rigors of recreational scuba diving.

I purchased a model DW-5600E with module 1545 in Feb 1997 for use while crew on a sailing ship. The primary reason I chose this watch was its slim design. I needed to be able to fit the watch inside a tight sleeved jacket. The paperwork that came with it said the battery should last about 2 years with normal use. I have been wearing this watch for the past 13 years, using the backlight sparingly. In addition to being captain and crew on sailing vessels, I am also in the landscape construction business. Although I don't think it has ever been completely submerged, this watch has been subjected to violent storms at sea, being dropped from extreme heights, burying in the mud, and various other abuses over the years. It is STILL RUNNING on the ORIGINAL BATTERY. I did replace the band about 6 years ago after it got brittle and broke. I paid only $25 for it back then, so that works out to less than $2 per year. Best bargain I've ever had.

It's a really awesome watch. I have a lot of G-Shock watches but this one really looks nice and feels good 'coz its cheap you don't feel terrible when you mess around with it. Its a great watch for $38. One thing which I wanna mention is that it looks much better than in the photos uploaded here on amazon. It just feels good on my wrist. And the other thing is that I have a small wrist of 6.5 inches and it still looks great not like my Mudman watch which is more bulkier...!!!!!!!!!!! Thumbs up.....!!!!

Everybody in the battalion was issued this watch before we shipped out for Iraq back in 2005, five years ago today actually, and the battery finally just died last night, WOW!...This thing lasted through an entire tour in Iraq, it made it through all the blood, sweat and tears and it just kept going. GREAT WATCH!
