easy breezy cookbook! February 27, 2010 Diana Lynn (Las Vegas, NV) Got this cookbook on my birthday as a present to myself. Was one of my best presents ever! This book is so easy to use...there are so many favorites. My husband and I both love using the Hungry Girl cookbooks.
Happiness February 27, 2010 Natalia Dobbel (Santa Cruz, CA USA) I bought the book last year and have LOVED every recipe in it so far! PLUS, they are all healthified. I am a vegetarian, and most of the recipes that ask for meat, I just replace with something else vegetarian friendly! But many of the recipes are already veggie. I have enjoyed making these dishes for my family and they have all been a big hit! Thank You Hungry Girl!!! :)
Delicious February 27, 2010 Gerry (Chino, CA USA) I loved the recipes in this book. I took this book to my Weight Watchers teacher and she was also thrilled with it. All the recipes are very simple for the busy cook.
One or Two Servings! February 27, 2010 Classical Steph 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I like this cookbook because most of the recipes in it are one or two servings. HOWEVER, I do a lot of substituting when cooking from the book. I prefer to use less pre-packaged foods and more natural ingredients, so I use equal amounts of sugar when a recipe calls for Splenda, I use Almond Breeze in place of soy milk, and so on. I use the book as a framework for healthier eating habits and have re-worked some of the recipes to my liking by substituting ingredients (no offense Lisa!).
I have given this book as a gift to several family members and more than a few friends. I have given the website info (lots of good recipes that aren't in the book & more info) to co-workers, friends and family to sign up for the daily emails. I prepare several of the recipes on a weekly basis, especially the breakfast cookies (I eat them almost every day).
Great recipes but ... February 27, 2010 Weightless (CA) Guide is great to cut calories on many "forbidden" foods. Some of the ingredients are a bit pricey, but what low-cal or healthy foods aren't? There is a whole chapter dedicated to cupcakes - in a diet book? Interesting with a lot of food variety. The book lists calories for every recipe. My whole family has tried the recipes (kids included) and enjoyed them.
