Great Recipes! February 27, 2010 J. K. Meador (Roanoke, VA United States) These are wonderful recipes for when I want to treat myself without cooking all day! My husband is fairly limited in what he will eat....hate to cook two meals. When he is out for the evening I make one of these recipes for myself. Easy to fix and good!
New way of eating February 27, 2010 Maureen Doyle (Hoffman Estates, IL USA) Who knew such a wonderful book existed? I love so many recipes in it. I thought itwas going to be another one of those diet books with tasteless recipes but it is not. Everything that I have tried I have loved. From the smoothies to the onion rings everything was wonderful! It really opened up my eyes to the fact that watching your food intake does not have to be a punishment. You can still have dessert and lose weight! Hungry Girl is wonderful and I highly recommend it.
Having Your (no guilt Cup) Cake and Eating it Too! February 27, 2010 Martha Kilmer (Battle Creek, MI) "Hungry Girl: 200 under 200" continues the Hungry Girl philosophy of turning tempting foods into no guilt treats. Many of these recipes are restaurant makeovers such as chicken hot wings. Others are lighter versions of homecooked favorites including cupcakes and one of my favorites, the All American Cheesy Egg Bake. These recipes are easy to make and taste like a million...calories!
If you want to stick to your weight management program of choice and still enjoy a few goodies along the way, then this book is for you. Every recipe has the stats printed next to it. Weight Watcher followers can go to the Hungry Girl website and check for the Points for each recipe as well.
Most recipes contain a bit of humor to spice up the cookbook vernacular. All in all, this is a nice follow up to Hungry Girl's first cookbook, which I also recommend. They complement each other but do not overlap.
Still not sure if this book is for you? Drop in on the Hungry Girl website and sign up for the newsletters. They are funny and full of recipes and supermarket finds to help you stick to healthy eating. The sassy attitude is the same and it will make you hungry for more.
good alternatives February 27, 2010 Nicole S. Caddell I really liked some of the alternatives in this book. I've found a few I didn't like the taste but over all they are great.
easy breezy cookbook! February 27, 2010 Diana Lynn (Las Vegas, NV) Got this cookbook on my birthday as a present to myself. Was one of my best presents ever! This book is so easy to use...there are so many favorites. My husband and I both love using the Hungry Girl cookbooks.
