The Fat Catz Review October 22, 2008 Raymond L. Honrada (Fort Walton Beach, FL USA) Good Collection. It helped round out my library very nicely. Being an old guy I didn't do to well collecting 80's stuff. This helped out a lot.
More Pure 80s June 9, 2008 Robert T. Burrough (NJ, USA) If you love the 80's (and honestly, who doesn't?), grab a copy of this CD and enjoy some old favorites.
More '80s! December 9, 2007 R. potocki (Tinley Park ill. US) This is one of the best of all 7 Pure '80s CD's. I love the songs on this. This is my second review for Pure '80s. My personal favorite is the original Pure '80s in the blue case. This is a mind blower of music. Better than a gore movie. I was born in this decade and this is my music and '80s is the best type of music and it is also when music videos first started. On this album we have Big Country, Duran Duran, Men Without Hats and it just goes with the old classic '80s. Years: 1982 - 1989. The songs on the album are remixed. They are all the original artists and remixed in a better audio. The pure '80s DVD is mixed with this stuff also. The best song is In A Big Country. Grade: A+
80's nostalgia June 11, 2007 D. Roberts (Battle Creek, Michigan United States) Remember the 1980's, when all we had to worry about was nuclear war instead of rampant terrorism? Well, for those like me who grew up during that decade, this CD is an overflow of nostalgia. It contains some of the best songs of the 80's. Songs like WALK LIKE AN EGYPTIAN (the Bangles), WALKING ON SUNSHINE (Katrina and the Waves), HEAVEN IS A PLACE ON EARTH (Belinda Carlisle) and I KNOW THERE'S SOMETHING GOING ON (Frida) are almost pure nostalgia straight-from-the-bottle. For me, the 2 best songs are MANEATER (Hall & Oates) and HANDS TO HEAVEN (Breathe). MANEATER is the best song Hall & Oates ever wrote, and it also describes quite a few sadistic women I've met in my life. HANDS TO HEAVEN takes me back to the first time I heard it. It was in boot camp & was the first time they allowed us to listen to the radio. For a few brief moments I was able to in my mind get away from the United States Navy! I've never cared for Huey Lewis & The News, but POWER OF LOVE is their best song & the song they're most known for. I like Pat Benatar, but never thought LOVE IS A BATTLEFIELD was one of her best songs. I would have much preferred SHADOWS OF THE NIGHT, but that's just my opinion. The biggest gaffe on the album in my mind is Falco's ROCK ME AMADEUS. I never cared for it, even though I'm a big fan of classical music (including Mozart!). Never seemed there was much substance to it, and it's little wonder that Falco was basically a 1-hit wonder. All-in-all, however, the majority of the songs on this album fit nicely for everyone who went to High School during the 80s. If you graduated from HS in 1980-something, give this CD a try!
AWSOME 80's MUSIC May 12, 2007 J. Ramirez (Houston, Texas United States) If you like 80's music, then this is one cd you must have in your collection. The selection is good and the flow of the music is just right. As you listen to it it will bring back memories of those special moments back in high school.
