Turn off your radio if you can't take a joke December 24, 2008 Puddinhead (Between, GA United States) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is an emminently catchy pop tune with a marvelous beat and simple lyrics that gives it its popular longevity. Look, those who seem to find this song so horrible, offensive or both: IT'S SATIRE! There is no serious intent behind this song. In interviews about the song, on NPR and other venues, Katy Perry expresses no wish to convey a profound message about gender relations, religion, or even musical composition. The song is meant to be a joke, along with her other songs such as Ur So Gay (which is not about homosexuality). This is her sense of humor. You either get the joke and laugh with her, or like other jokes it is not to your taste. So turn off your radio if you do not like it or do not buy it.
