Magazine January 7, 2009 Wanda M. Johnson (Mackinaw City, Michigan USA) This magazine 'Cooks Illustrated' was a Christmas present for my son. The subscription has arrived, the whole transaction was smooth and my son is enjoying the magazine.
The finest Magazine ever September 17, 2008 joaniepony (Californis Desert, Ridgecrest) Since 1993 Cook's Illustrated is the only magazine I have saved through 5 moves. It is a real treasure, with no advertising. No dazzling photographs of dishes that are impossible to attain. A very step by step explanation of the ingredients, cooking utensils, preparation techniques, time & temperature This magazine is an inspiration to create.
Great magazine needs August 28, 2008 Momma Jack (U.S.A) an index...they are very concise, the back stories to the recipe testings are funny, entertaining, and great to read while, you wait for bread to rise, chicken to marinate, meat to brine, etc, etc.....my son loves all of the recipes I have made from this magazine (25 +), my picky eater husband also loves the recipes especially the chicken teriyaki (broiler method, plus I add honey to the sauce....), orange chicken, sichuan green beans with pork, dark chocolate cupcakes, cuban roast pork, mushroom risotto, easy oven roasted chicken, blueberry scones, brown sugar cookies, and the Christmas supper I prepared was also very good (though time consuming) shrimp bisque, beef tenderloin, mashed potatoes, flourless chocolate torte, on and on...you get the picture...drooooolllllll the only problem you will have (if you want to see it as a problem)...is the expanding waistlines that your family will procure after you begin cooking these recipes...!
Cook's Magazine August 13, 2008 Peter J. Auzers (Lafayette, CA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Excellent mag with clear, practical, EXECUTABLE recipes that have been tested to avoid the usual pitfalls associated with many popular dishes. Outstanding illustrations and helpful product (tools and/or ingredients) recommendations. A big help for both novice and experienced cooks.
