better than simplehuman January 5, 2009 D. Chang (NYC) pros: 1. this can fits a 13-gallon glad bag PERFECTLY. nothing loose or odd about the fit. 2. the edges grip 13-gallon bags TIGHT! drop something heavy into an empty bag and it stays! 3. push lid to open and stays open. push lid again to close. no wobbly step-on doors. very smooth open. 4. rectangular shape is more space efficient than any other. 5. nice recessed handles. cons: 1. fingerprint-proof is only on top, not the entire can. no big deal. 2. still pricey but not as much as simplehumans in the same category. i took a 13-gallon glad bag and tried it out on a bunch of simplehumans, none of them fit right. i believe they are designed so that it will fit expensive simplehuman bags and not regular standard trash bags-especially the round and oval cans. this oxo beat any simplehuman in price and function. and it looks great. buy this!
A garbage can for over $100 but I love it. December 10, 2008 Carol Savage (New Jersey) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I can't believe I was going to pay over $100 for a freaking garbage can on Amazon. Although, I did pay $83.99 at Linens-n-Things Going Out of Business Sale. This is a fabulous can. I was going to buy the butterfly top can at the Container Store but this is much better. The kids would probably get their fingers caught in the butterfly top. This top is easy for 4 yr olds. The BEST PART is that none of the moving parts touch the wall. Our other can left terrible marks on the wall where the top touched and the back handle hit every time you stepped on the pedal. This one sits perfectly still and the top opens smoothly with a wide opening. As for the finger prints...who cares it's a garbage can. The crazy thing - L-n-T had a compact refrigerator for the same price as I paid for this non-electrical, non-battery operated Garbage Can.
Love the look October 21, 2008 Carol L. Condon (Washington Township, NJ) This looks great in my kitchen and is very easy to replace the bags and open/close the lid. My only small issue is that it does show fingerprints but overall I am very pleased with its functionality and appearance.
Finally a trash can I like August 17, 2008 2wildboyz (Houston, TX) This trash can seems to be expensive but for me it's worth every penny. It looks good, the stain-resistant lid actually works and it works with regular "large kitchen bags".
Sainless Steel Narrow Tash Can May 12, 2008 Sue Hupp (Cascade Locks, Oregon United States) I never thought I would be excited about a trash can but this one is great! It is very narrow and fits into a small space but it is also tall and holds a 10 gallon garbage bag. Spending this much money for a trash can is a bit much I think. However, it is brushed stainless and matches the other stainless appliances very, very well.
