Amazon.com Review
Looking to impress that special someone in your life? What better way than with homemade pasta. Villaware, a tradition of classic Italian kitchenware since 1906, provides the tools that make it easy. The Al Dente pasta machine, made of heavyweight chrome steel, is great for rolling dough and has a double-sided, 6-inch-wide blade for cutting spaghetti or fettuccine. The steel rollers are adjustable for kneading and there are seven thickness settings to accommodate individual preferences. Its manually controlled crank offers exceptional control, and a removable cutter head makes cleanup simple, while measuring only 6 inches wide--so you won't have to give up much counter space. The only drawback is that after tasting fresh, homemade pasta, it's hard to go back to the packaged kind.

This easy-to-use pasta machine provides a great way to enjoy pasta just like they do in Italy. So pour that glass of red wine, toss a green salad, take the garlic bread out of the oven, and be ready to wow family and friends with a favorite pasta dish. Optional accessories are available for making angel hair, trenette, spaghetti, lasagnette, lasagna, and ravioli. Villaware makes it possible for anyone to make pasta that looks and tastes like it was made by the pros. Directions and a recipe book are also included to help you get started. This pasta machine carries a one-year warranty. --Catie Unger

5 out of 5 stars I'm so excited and I just can't hide it...   January 5, 2010

I am absolutely lovin' my pasta maker. I tried making pasta first with the Ronco Pasta machine and wasn't impressed by the texture or taste of the pasta. Next, I tried rolling out my own pasta dough, only to discover it's extremely difficult to get the dough thin enough by hand. With this thing, I'm making some quality pasta with beautiful texture. It really is a very simple machine to use.

To someone looking into buying this who doesn't know how it works, I'd recommend going on "You Tube" to look at videos of people using pasta makers such as this one. I did this and felt it gave me a huge learning curve. I knew exactly what to do, although I did read the instructions as well. Also, I'd say to the novice that you don't have to roll your dough all the way down to setting 1 to make your pasta. In fact, for fettucine and spaghetti, I prefer to roll the dough only through level 2 (or 3).

5 out of 5 stars Works well, good value   November 1, 2009

I've used it 4 times to make noodles and some lasagna (sp?), and it works great. Even made some with a whole wheat blend. I can imagine that it might be hard to get the dough consistency right, but I haven't had too much trouble, and that has little to do with this product.
