This sampler features four cheeses that are typical of four distinct regions of Italy:- Provolone Piccante - The piccante (sharp) version of this classic Italian cheese is more complex than the younger dolce version. Provolone is great on sandwiches or chunked into an antipasto salad. (8 oz.)
- Grana Padano Stravecchio - The original hard Italian cheese, Grana Padano is a firm, dry, fruity cow's milk cheese from the Po Valley of Northern Italy. Stravecchio is aged for an optimal 20 months. Grate it over pasta, vegetables or soup, or serve it as a table cheese drizzled with extra virgin olive oil. (8 oz.)
- Mountain Gorgonzola - Italy's famous blue cheese comes from Lombardy. Made from whole cow's milk taken from local herds that graze on beautiful rolling pastures, no Italian Cheese Assortment would be complete without a cut of authentic Gorgonzola. (8 oz.)
- Pecorino Toscano - This soft, 3 month sheep's milk cheese is made in the hills of Tuscany. It is young, sweet and springy. A natural partner with pears! We find that this combination well represents the wide variety of flavors and textures found in Italian cheeses. (8 oz.)

We had a tasting party and everyone enjoyed all of these cheeses. The assortment was varied and interesting ranging from mild to an excellent pungent Gorgonzola (my favorite). All were excellent. The packaging was also first class. My only complaint is that there is now none left. However, I've solved that problem by signing up for iGourmet's cheese of the month club!

Bought this for my Italian in-laws. It was delivered quickly (considering this is a few days before Christmas) and they LOVED it! Perfect gift for them.

This is one of the nicest samplers I have ever received. Each variety was excellent. I served it at a party and received rave reviews. The quality of the cheese was excellent, well packed, and for the price, worth every penny. Like another reviewer here though, I would have appreciated it if the cheese had been accompanied by an explanation just what it was, what area it was made in and that sort of information. I am certainly not an expert on cheese from this country and was rather clueless as to what I was eating. Other than that it was great and I am not going to mark down the rating simply because of my own ignorance of the subject as there it is all taste matters.
I plan to order several of these samplers for friends this year.

My husband and I ordered this sampler as a special treat, and now we are hooked! The cheese was incredible with our favorite wines, and made for a fun and beautiful late dinner (i.e. the kid was in bed) with warm olives a baguette and some prosciutto! We also ordered some asiago to go with it. DELICIOUS.

I was on a buying spree and I picked this up, if you have a good gourmet grocery store nearby you would be better off just going there, I paid for shipping and I regret it.
