Product Description When a kindly elephant hears a faint cry of help from a floating speck of dust his attempts to protect the tiny particle cause his neighbors to question his sanity in this animated adaptation of dr seuss classic 1954 childrens book of the same name. Studio: Tcfhe Release Date: 12/09/2008 Starring: Voice Of Jim Carrey Voice Of Steve Carrell Run time: 174 minutes Rating: G
Amazon.com Dr. Seuss's classic 1954 book Horton Hears a Who has entertained generations of children and served as the inspiration for a 26-minute, 1970 television special Dr. Seuss's Horton Hears a Who and the 2000 Broadway musical Seussical: The Musical. This 2008, full-length animated movie features the voice talents of Jim Carrey as Horton, Steve Carrell as the Mayor of Whoville, Carol Burnett as the Kangaroo, and Jesse McCartney as JoJo and promises to delight a whole new generation of children and their parents and grandparents. The technological wonders of computer animation have allowed 20th Century Fox Animation to bring to life the wacky, colorful Whoville with its minute inhabitants and the lush Jungle of Nool with its host of distinctive animals and the result is a rich, fantastical world of wonder worthy of Dr. Seuss' own imagination. All the major plot elements of Dr. Seuss' book are present, with Horton hearing the faint cry for help from a tiny dust speck atop a small clover and doing his best to protect the inhabitants of that small civilization of Whoville despite the disbelief, disdain, and persecution of his fellow animals. The feel of Dr. Seuss' original rhyming prose is partially preserved in the sparse narration by Charles Osgood that's interspersed throughout the film's dialogue and the overarching themes of staying true to one's convictions and the celebration of the power of perseverance, imagination, and kindness come through loud and clear. Horton Hears a Who is a fun rendering of a classic Dr. Seuss story that's sure to entertain viewers of all ages. --Tami Horiuchi

Great Family Movie January 10, 2009 N. Clark (Moses Lake, WA) I bought this for my kids for Christmas. They love it and enjoy watching over and over. My husband and I also enjoy the movie.
DVD for Children January 9, 2009 L. Savage Excellent story written for big and little children. Teaches to tell the truth no matter what, the value of believing in yourself, the value of not giving in to pressure when you know you are right. The important message that all people no matter how small are important and should be protected.
Blu-Ray Elevates 'Horton' Big-Time January 9, 2009 Craig Connell (Lockport, NY USA) There is a stunning difference in watching this animated feature on regular DVD and viewing it on Blu-Ray. The latter dramatically elevates my rating of this movie, because the story is just so-so. It's a nice story, but nothing that will leave you laughing like in "Cars," or "Madagascar" or a bunch of other recently-made animated features. However, on Blu-Ray, this is so flat-out awesome to look at, that's is well worth seeing and adding to your movie collection. The brilliant colors and razor-sharp images are just amazing and totally stunning! Jim Carrey does a nice job as "Horton." You might not even recognize his voice. He plays a character who hears a voice nobody else hears; the voice of a little person on top of town which is on top of a little flower. Hey, "size matters," but far more important is the value of living beings regardless of their size. The story is the typical frustrating one in which nobody believes the one who is telling the truth, until near the end, and then all of them do the right thing. It's a good message, presented in a so-so story but a gorgeous one to watch on Blu-Ray.
Great children's movie January 9, 2009 MG My child loved this movie & kept talking about what was happening the whole time. It's entertaining & very nicely done.
Just Amazing January 8, 2009 E. GRANDERSON (Atlanta, GA, USA) The movie itself is written well and Jim Carey is one of our family's best actor of comedy..not to mention the graphics of the movie. Just simply amazing movie for the entire family. ERic
