Fatboy Versipack January 6, 2009 A. Pennello (Arizona, United States) I've noticed that most reviewers for this product are men, but this bag functions just as nicely for women too. It's a great rugged, well constructed bag for conceal carry. No need for a silly fanny pack, when you use the "fatboy". The conceal carry compartment is equipped to use a special holster to keep your gun from moving around. It has plenty of pockets for various needs. An overall great bag for the price. Highly recommended.
Excellent concealed carry bag December 9, 2008 Michael Elwood (Columbia, MO) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The mere fact that I'm writing this review should tell you something about how great this bag is (I never write reviews). I've had the Fatboy Versipack for about a year now (I purchased mine from Kelly's LE store in Springfield, MO), and I use it for EVERYTHING and I carry it daily. Very durable (1000-Denier water and abrasion resistant light-weight ballistic nylon, Teflon fabric protector, YKK high strength zippers and UTX-Duraflex nylon buckles). Strap is comfortable and adjusts easily, plus the backside of the pack has very nice AS-100 high grade closed-cell foam padding for carry comfort. My coworkers call it my "man purse." On any one day, you'll find the following items in my Fatboy: *. Wallet (and the wife's on occasion!) *. Cell phone *. Pens/small writing tablet *. Keys *. Garmin GPS 60cX unit *. Pocket knife *. Ruger P95 9mm semi automatic pistol *. Spare magazine for the P95 *. Small sewing kit *. Package or two of gum *. Mini Mag flashlight *. Other assorted items as needed WONDERFUL bag. I highly recommend it. If you plan on using your Fatboy to carry a concealed weapon, I recommend the velcro CCW holster by Maxpedition for a VERY secure hold (which can be found here http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001DZT8BS/ref=cm_cmu_up_thanks_hdr) Mike in Columbia
Excellent Quality and if this bad doesn't have a pocket for it, you don't need it! August 3, 2008 John Talley (Southern Oregon) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this bag after much research. It is a very well made bag... if you wear this bag out, you must be either Rambo or a Soldier. It has pockets for everything and then some. The pocket on the back side is perfect for a water bottle, it has pockets for your multi-tool (Leatherman New Wave for me) Pens, perfect pocket for a Surefire E2L, a place for your keys, camera, cellphone (although my Blackberry Curve is too big, but a standard phone will fit fine) and if you are of a mind your handgun. Although my Government Model 1911 is a little too big, but anything smaller will fit fine. My only complaint is the the padded sliding shoulder pad, if you are wearing a shirt without a collar, it tends to rub your neck raw. But if you have a collar it is fine. I think this bag will last a very long time and is perfect for going for a hike, maybe a small emergency bag, or even perhaps a "man purse"... As much stuff as the average man (I say man, because generally women use a purse, but this bag is perfectly suited for women also) carries in his pockets and on his belt, keys, wallet, pocket knife, cell phone, multi-tool, change, and myriad other things, this bag is perfect. They took a lot of time designing this bag it even has a strap on the backside (the side against your body) that allows you to clip in to your belt, I find this feature very handy as I walk sort of funny (due to bad hips) and without this strap it tends to hang straight down. But with the strap attached, it stays where I want it. They also offer this bag is enough sizes that you could probably find one to use as a suit case if you were so inclined. Highly recommend this bag.
You have to buy it! February 22, 2008 Arthur W. Mangum (NC) 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
After an intensive research on this bag, I finally decided to buy it. It is all and more of what I expected. All the reviews on this bag are right. It is a TOUGH Bag and extremly well designed. It is great for CCW. One of my favorites is my XD 40 4". A Gun that is not easy to conceal with sport clothes but it is easy with this bag. Its a good choice.
Manly carryall (not a purse!) September 29, 2007 Todd Burks (Charlottesville, VA) 11 out of 12 found this review helpful
Well-designed and made. This bag has plenty of pockets and zippered compartments for all kinds of items. I can carry my camera, phone, multi-tool, keys, maps, a book, and my lunch without needing to take a much larger backpack. The shoulder strap is comfortable, and the bag hangs nicely on the hip. The manufacturer, Maxpedition, also has additional wallets and cases that will attach to this to expand your options. This bag is made to carry on the right side. They also make a left-side version they call the "S-type". Recommended for anybody who wants to carrry a little more than will fit in their pockets.
