Windows Repair Xp

By: Ethan Hunter

Your Windows XP may have several error conditions, most of which can be handled by Windows repair XP. Windows XP may not respond to your shut down attempts, and it could also initiate a re-start as soon as you try to shut down your computer. Your registry could develop errors and grow in size making your computer run slow and eventually hang.

Windows XP errors could be induced by incorrect system configurations, hardware incompatibility and failures, conflicting device drivers, and many more. The most common fault with Windows XP is that as soon as you attempt shut down, Windows XP initiates a re-start. This is because Windows XP is programmed to re-start as soon as it encounters errors while shutting down. The accumulation of temporary files in the Windows temporary folders can also cause Windows XP not to respond to the shut down process. The temporary files can be removed one by one manually, or you can also use file cleaning software to delete all the files from the temporary folders in Windows. The temporary folders are located in C:\Windows in your "C" drive. If you have more than one drive, the temporary folders would be located in the hard disk where you have installed Windows XP. There are several programs in Windows repair XP which can take care of most of the errors in Windows XP.

Several factors contribute to Windows XP shut down problems. Damaged "exit sound file" in your system could be one of the reasons along with incorrect system configuration, incompatible and faulty hardware, and program conflicts could also produce such problems. One of the common problems found in Windows XP is that it starts to re-boot as soon as you attempt shut down. This is mainly because Windows XP, by default, is programmed not to compromise with any system errors when it is shutting down and this causes Windows to automatically initiate a re-start.

Windows XP stores its important data in the registry. Every time Windows executes a program, it scans the registry to locate the data it wants. With continuous use of your computer, the registry system develops errors. These errors are mainly the obsolete, invalid, and corrupt entries which accumulate in the registry, making it grow larger and larger. When this happens, Windows XP takes a longer time to scan the registry resulting in your computer slowing down. Windows repair XP provides the means to remove the registry errors, putting back your computer in normal operating condition.

With accumulation of errors in the registry, there could be conflict which would make your computer stop functioning altogether. When your operating system fails to boot, it becomes a serious problem, your hard disk may have to be re-formatted and Windows re-installed. Windows repair XP provides the solution in removing your registry errors. You may download registry cleaning software from the Internet and use the program to remove errors from the registry. You should do this regularly in order to keep your computer running normally.

It has often been found that Windows XP hangs at the point it displays "saving your settings" on the screen of your monitor. During this time you will not get any response from Ctrl+Alt+Del, and you may find that your mouse is not moving. This could be an intermittent fault caused by a possible bug in Windows XP. Microsoft has a Windows repair XP supported fix for this kind of fault. For rectification, use a patch, which is included in your Windows XP, and also available as Windows update. You would need to re-configure Windows update to avoid this from happening over and over again.

Windows repair XP cannot handle all Windows XP error conditions. In such cases you will need to re-install Windows XP in your computer. While re-installing the operating system, you need not remove Windows XP already existing in your system. You can carry on with installation over the Windows XP operating system existing in your computer, and by doing this you will not lose the application software already installed. Further, you will not lose the existing settings and data.
