Many people use whitening products such as whitening toothpastes, and flossers. Bleaching, hydrogen peroxide pastes and UV treatments are available as well. Over the counter products are often as useful and effective as dentist provided ones. Be careful though, overuse can damage your enamel permanently.

Dentists have made take home sets popular, they are affordable for most, and offer the same results, if not better, than traditional products. Results are long lasting, and you get an instant smile boost.

Habits such as smoking and constantly consuming dark liquids transforms your white teeth into yellow ones over time. Your habits as a child will greatly impact how white your adult teeth are, and that can determine many factors. You can reverse these signs though, through refraining from dark foods and liquids, and brushing at least 2 times per day with a whitening agent.

Maintaining the newly whitened teeth are a task in itself. It is highly recommended that you use follow up methods, such as brushing twice per day, using a whitening toothpaste and mouthwash. Avoid darkly colored foods and beverages at all costs, for at least 2 weeks, and try to drink dark liquids with straws or use another method that keeps the liquid off of your teeth.
