Simple Tips For Finding Dj Speaker Packages

By: Christopher Stigson

The price of DJ equipment has made it harder for someone to follow their plans of becoming a DJ. With this in mind, DJ equipment is not just one piece of equipment, but rather a whole assembly of components. This is great, because now a DJ can mix the differenct compontents in different price ranges to fit their DJ:ing needs.

Sound mixers have the greatest price margin. There are so many features on todays mixers that some cost just $200 and some come at the price of $2000 and more. A smaller working DJ can survive on a $200 to $500 mixer, if they are on a budget. These are usually used by amateur DJs starting out. Even big names in the DJ equipment market such as Numark, Gemini, Aiwa, Akai, etc. produce such small economy speakers.

If you want to be great at mixing then you should go with turntables before DVD, CD or MP3 players. Yes, turntables are more expensive, but there are some quite affordable ones from companies such as Gemini at around $400. Getting faster playing records without lag usually requires direct drive turntables and is prefered over beltdriven ones by most DJ's.

Players are much more affordable than turntables; but they cannot provide features such as scratching and back-spinning of records. Players only provide sound output as it is on the CD or DVD and facilitate no scope for its alteration. DJs that just play original records go for players.

DJs trying to reduce their expenses on equipment can also shop around for speakers. The price of a speaker essentially depends upon its output. A low wattage speaker can be selected to save costs. There are small woofer-type speakers available that can output stereophonic sound and are available at prices at low as $20 apiece.

You can also get a DJ package which includes all of the most basic components you need and also headphones. You get a DJs discount for getting a package and they usually come with a pair of headphones to boot. Packages are available generally for the mixers.

Though it's not great to use cheap equipment for DJing, DJs with creativity and talent will very well do a good job with cheap stuff. Most likely, buyers of equipment are amateur DJs who are uncertain of the profession and just want to mix at home or trying to get a few beats together.
