Banned By Google Adsense

By: Jane Flowers

Being suspended by Google Adsense is more common that you may think. There are lists and lists of forum entries all over the internet, where shattered and bewildered Google users are complaining that they lost their Adsense account.

What many of these unfortunates do not seem to know,is that there are many alternatives to Google Adsense. The internet is , in many ways geared towards users of AdSense, but mainly because they have been around longer than the alternatives.

It is NOT the end of the world...things are changing...webmasters and publishers are even beginning to give away and sell websites that are Bidvertizer ready, instead of Google Adsense ready.

The obvious thing to realize in the instance of banning or suspension, is that whilst Google are the most strict about applying their terms of service, their TOS really apply to any other monetization program. Which ever one you join, Google or otherwise, there are some vital things to know so that your account does not become disabled or banned.

Here are some pointers and tips from the new Ebook released in December 2006, entitled Banned By Google Adsense, A Guide To Alternative Monetization.

Never run your pages that have Ads on traffic exchanges or auto-surf programs. You can get around this by directing traffic to your Ad pages by creating an eye-catching splash page. Preferably, make the link in your splash page open in a new window.

Never click on your own Ads...PERIOD! If an Ad attractes you do a search for it and click on it from outside your own pages.

Do not access your account or Ads page from a computer on a network.Your ISP address might show up even if you use more than one computer.

Do not use internet cafes to log in or view your Ads. The next user might go to the same site, and their visit might be taken to be YOU.

Avoid making enemies. I can speak personally here. I clashed with someone on a forum, and before I knew it, I was being slandered all over the net with many malicious emails, complaints and allegations being submitted against me. (Keep it friendly at all times) All an enemy has to do is repeatedly click on your Ads to get you suspended.

If you feel you really have to tell your family and friends about your monetized site, make certain they do not click on your Ads to HELP you earn cash.

Try and avoid too many repeat impressions of your page. This is hard when editing pages, but try and avoid it. Impressions can ba seen as trying to inflate your percentages, and thereby avoid spikes of traffic clicks.

Never enter into an arrangement where you click a friends Ads in exchange for them clicking yours.

Don't send out spam emails with links to your Ads pages.

Do not ask your site viewers to click your Ads or Support Your Sponsors.

Avoid running multipe scrips on one domain or Ad site. Check your TOS. Many paid Ad programs wont allow competitors to run on the same site. ie. Google might not allow you to run Clicksor Ads and vice-versa.

Make cetain your Ads page has content on it. Do not just have a page full of Ads. If you are looking for content, there are hundreds of free article directories you can use to find suitalbe content

Finally, READ your terms of service from your Ad provider. I know it is a pain and we hardly ever bother, but in this instance it is vital.

These all read like an annoying list of don'ts! The fact is that they are essential if you are to keep making money off your site. Employ these tactics now and you will possibly keep your Adsense account, and your Ads earnings.

If the worst happens and you do get that ghastly boiler plate email telling you your account has been supended, there are many alternatives which can be accessed from one easy place - the Banned By Google Adsense Ebook.
