An Irresponsible Mother

Elizabeth Tallent, the famous authoress, describes a summer travel of the young couple with a little son in her narrative “Ciudad Juarez".
The authoress describes how a young mother cares after her son, Willis. She watches to the back sitting in the car to make sure that Willis is ok. The family travel on the warm desert road and Nina observes if her son receives a cool air and he feels comfortable in the car. But the fact is that Nina does not decide to check the state of her son herself. Her husband, Tom reminds her to do it. This fact expresses that that the father looks after his son more than his mother and that it was Tom’s initiative to check if Willis is good ventilated or not.
Unfortunately, that was not only situation, when Nina shows how irresponsible she is. The authoress describes the case, when Tom goes to the laundry room in search of her wife and founds her there sleeping on the hill of unwashed laundry. At that moment her children, the twin brothers were crawling around her. They were naked and cold. Father took the children away from the cold lodgment and dressed the twins in the warm clothes. After that Tom came back to the laundry and found Nina still sleeping there.
Somebody finds that Nina was tired because of a lot of house work and looking after the children. The author tries to show that Nina works a lot and she is always tired. But in fact, there are a big amount of mothers who have much more cares than Nina and still do not allow themselves to behave so irresponsible concerning to the children. According to the statistics of the Bureau of Labor Statistics, more than 75 % of women with little children in the USA work. That means that there is a way how to combine the work, the housekeeping and still remain a good attentive mother.
